In some cases, chemotherapy or radiotherapy may be needed either to reduce the risk of a cancer returning after surgery (this is called adjuvant treatment) or to reduce the size of a tumour before surgery can be performed (this is called neoadjuvant therapy). London Gynae Cancer care will arrange referrals to appropriate specialists in cases where chemotherapy or radiotherapy are needed.
You can find out more about the use of chemotherapy or radiotherapy by going to Understanding gynaecological cancers or Cancer information resources.
